Note: When the end cover plate has wear, grooves, or score marks it will not pump as well. If the cover is worn, when you replace the impeller it may not prime, the old impeller was matched to the grooves and will actually work better than a new impeller. Replacing the cover and impeller at the same time eliminates this issue.
